Where nature and heritage meet

Roeselare’s park cemetery is a historical gem. It was established in 1806 and has since become the final resting place of British and French soldiers as well as local civilians who died in the First and Second World Wars – an unusual combination in one cemetery.

In the oldest section, known as Campo Santo, notable historical figures such as Alfons Blomme and Albrecht Rodenbach are buried.

The many monuments and burial chapels give this site a striking presence and a unique, tranquil atmosphere. Well worth a visit!
